Galaxy Nails

Im loving the massive nail art craze that is going around right now - people are getting so creative with it, and its such a cheap and easy way to brighten up an outfit.
I think WAH-NAILS are the kings of the nail art, with a small salon placed in Topshop Oxford Circus, they can paint pretty much anything you want on your nails. But with a starting price of £20 for a basic manicure with polish, I can hardly afford that on my student budget. :(

So instead I've tried alittle DIY and created the 'galaxy nail' trend on my own fingertips! Im surprised at how easy it was - which is a bonus as I'm a beginner with nail art!

What you need:
Black or navy nail varnish for the base.
Purple and Blue varnish (or any other similar colours which represent the galaxy!)
Clear glitter varnish for the stars.
Tissue and tweezers

  • First up I painted my nails with a black polish and used two coats to ensure it was extra black.
  •
  • After the black dried, I dabbed the purple polish randomly on each nail and used a tissue (held securely by tweezers) and dabbed each nail. I found the more hap hazard I was; the better it looked.

  • I repeated the same process, but this time with blue polish and dabbed it on top of the purple.

  • I waited a couple of minutes for the blue coat to dry before I added the final layer of sparkles. Not only does it look like stars in the galaxy but it doubles up as a top coat to prevent the nail varnish from chipping!
  • And Ta-Daaaa! My very own DIY galaxy nails. :)

Style Crussshhh

One of my current style obsessions right now haaaas to be Nicola Roberts. I first started to take notice of her style a few years back when she ditched the fake tan and embraced her natural ginger!
Often photographed on the front row, she mixes high street, designer and vintage to create her individual style. She isn’t afraid of taking risks by clashing prints and colour with one another.

I also have a soft spot for old Nic because like her, I too am pretty pale! Yet she now proudly embraces her pale skin tone and compliments it by wearing colours which suit her, instead of covering up in fake tan. I feel she doesn’t get enough recognition for her style in which she deserves!

Hello Blog World!

Hello Bloggers!

I am currently studying Fashion Management at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. As part of my coursework this semester I have been set the task of setting up my own blog. I love to follow blogs and spend a lot of time trawling through my favourite ones - but the thought of setting my own one up is very daunting - Eek! So please bear with me until I get to grips with using blogspot. D:

I intend to post and discuss my current fashion obsessions, style crushes and recent purchases!
